Here is a selection of vehicles we have recently carried out work on servicing the gearbox. First up we have a Volkswagen vehicle. The gearbox teeth on the gears had eroded, we replaced the gears and refitted the gearbox, here are photos of the work and the eroded teeth on the gears.

Next up is an automatic BMW gearbox. We completely stripped apart this gearbox and rebuilt it, we fitted this gearbox back into the vehicle in less than a day, here are the photos of the work being carried out.

Signs that you are having a gearbox problem

There are some obvious signs that you are experiencing gearbox problems with your vehicle. If your vehicle is slipping gears, clunking into gears and you are experiencing knocking noises coming from the underneath of the vehicle this could be a clear sign you have a gearbox problem. As mentioned earlier it could be that the gears teeth have eroded, the photo below shows an example of this.

In a lot of scenarios, we may be able to save the existing gearbox being able to repair it, this would be more cost affective for you. The worst case scenario is we replace the gearbox with a reconditioned gearbox, because we stock gearboxes and invest heavily in stock this means we will likely have the gearbox you need in stock, this means we can service your vehicle quickly.

The price to install a reconditioned gearbox is far more cost affective using our garage than a main dealer or a back-street garage, why?
